JCSD Graduation Requirements • Traditional JCSD Diploma • Standard Diploma (28 Credits) • Advanced Diploma (32 Credits) • Career Diploma (21 Credits Law- Now required by MS Code 37-16-17). • Basic Diploma - In addition, the State of Mississippi provides an option available upon a parent’s request for students who meet the State graduation requirement of 21 credits. • Traditional, Career, and Basic Diplomas require passage of English II, Algebra I, Biology, U.S. History State Assessments. • GED

JCSD Traditional Diploma28-32 Credits Graduation Requirements Required Subjects English I, English II, English III, and English IV Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II Biology I, a Physical Science 1 World History, 1 US History, ½ Geography, ½ US Government, ½ Economics, and ½ MS Studies ½ Comp Health or ½ Family and Individual Health Tech Foundations or Computer Applications/Keyboarding 4 credits of English 4 credits of Math 4 credits of Science 4 credits of Social Studies ½ credit of Health ½ credit of PE 1 credit of Business and Technology 1 credit of Art 9 credits of Electives

  6. GED • Provided to JCSD students who are age 16, score at least on an eighth grade level on the TABE Assessment, and are at least one year behind their graduating peers.
