CWFA - Progressive Pathways Fund Vision of the Fund All of the region’s young adults making the transition from secondary to post-secondary have the information, guidance and available options they need to successfully access pathways that lead to post-secondary success and family economic stability. Mission of the Fund To expand the universe of transparent and accessible Progressive Pathways to Post-Secondary Success. Progressive Pathways allow individuals to alternate between and combine periods of education/training and employment, and thereby progressively build toward college and career success over an extended period of time. Goal of the Fund The number of young adults (ages 18-24) in Cook County successfully transitioning from secondary programs to Progressive Pathway Programs increases by 2020.

Pro Path Fund Phase 1 - Initial Projects Project 1: Execute a Landscape Scan of Career Pathway Programs – Get a baseline of what these programs are Led by Education Systems Center, Northern IL University and Women Employed Project 2: Complete a Human Centered Design Research Project with Young Adults and Guides -Understand how young adults get information about career pathway programs now Led by Axil Solutions and Do Good Strategies Project 3: Develop and Pilot a Progressive Pathway Friendly Concrete Post-Secondary Plan Led by Umoja and Youth Job Center

Pro Path Fund Phase 2 – Current Objectives • Objective 1: • All young adults in Cook County have access to accurate, and actionable information about Progressive Pathways and Progressive Pathway Programs available to them. • Led by Education Systems Center, Northern IL University Objective 2: The region’s different education and workforce systems and programs develop a consensus about use of shared data platforms and tools to support those transitioning along Progressive Pathways. Led by YI Advisors Objective 3: The number of young adults in Cook County transitioning out of high school or its equivalent with high-quality, comprehensive career guidance about multiple pathways increases. Led by Chicago Jobs Council and Youth Guidance

Pro Path Fund Phase 2 – Current Status • Objective 1: Information • ESC has brought state agencies to consensus on the data points to gather on all programs • This allows for creation of “Combined Program File” aggregated across funding streams Objective 2: Systems YI Advisor recommendations are giving a clearer view of where Combined Program File can be “fed” Strategy forming around a combination of improving current systems and building new functionality Objective 3: Guidance CCAC has been improved in fundamental ways, guides will begin receiving new training this summer. Project to push this progress “upstream” with universities that train guides, is underway

Career Pathway Programs report through common information system Privately Funded Programs IBHE: Private Business & Vocational Schools DCEO: WIOA & Registered Apprenticeships ICCB: Certificate programs Interagency Career Pathway Common Program Information System Common intake system provisions data back to agency administrative systems & public reporting dataset Agency Administrative Systems Common program information based on core elements/CP definition captured from multiple state-administered programs via interagency system Public Reporting Dataset can be fed to multiple dissemination platforms for a variety of audiences Interagency information system provisions data to both a combined public reporting dataset and administrative data systems as needed for federal/state reporting purposes Public Reporting Dataset ICCB IBHE IDES IWDS Other Tools Reaching Youth TBD IL workNet/Career Information System Reports/Tools for Pathway System Administrators TBD
