I Formation • Benefits of the I Formation • Good Run Offense • 4 Run Options • 3BK – Tailback (Leads, Iso, Counters, Sweeps) • 4BK – Fullback (Dives, Traps) • 1BK – Quarterback (Option) • 2BK – Flanker / Slot (Jet Sweeps, Reverse) • Good Pass Offense • Play Action Passes • Quick Passing Game, Vertical Passing Game, Screens
I Formation – (Formation Options) • Formation Options: • Stack: Any two receivers in formation stack in front of each other. (Example: Slot Stack) • Strong: FB off set to strong side of formation • Weak: FB off set to weak side of formation • Tackle Over Rt: LT moves to right side of the line next to RT. • Tackle Over Lt: RT moves to left side of the line next to LT • Formation Trading: • Players (TE or FB) line up opposite of the formation called and then shift to the formation that was called.

Play Action Passes • When do we use play-action passing? • We use it at any point whenever we feel we may get pressure or the defense is thinking run • Must be based off of your best running plays • You must be able to run the ball successfully in order for it to work • RB/FB must sell good fake
