Organs • Stomach • Tongue • Esophagus • When you swallow there is a tube that connects to your throat to your stomach that allows you to swallow. When you swallow muscles in the wall of the esophagus create synchronized waves one behind the other then push the bolus down.

System Process • The digestive system is made up of the digestive track a series of hollow organs joined in a long twisting tube from mouth to the anus and other organs that help out the body break down and absorb food.
Fun Facts • We eat about 500kg of food per year. • The digestive system is made up of multiple organs and glands they digest the food, extract energy, nutrients, and later expel the waste byproducts.
