What is LEO? LSHTM Ethics Online • Online ethics application system • Used for staff and students at LSHTM • Merges staff ethics form (E1) with MSc student CARE form Application: https://leo.lshtm.ac.uk
Logging in for the first time Help, FAQs, contact Does NOT use your standard LSHTM log-in (eg SRESPHEN), but can use LSHTM email with same password Click new user
Registration Currently have a character limit of 50 • Note: • Case-sensitive • Log-in for system

Getting started Click on create project
Short title Short title will appear in summary lists of projects
Start your project Click to start working on project
Navigation screen Short title Click to get started • Sections to complete • Greyed out means not applicable (Will change depending on answers provided) Print generates a pdf that can be saved locally Transfer sends to another user. Will not be able to edit. Share allows collaboration on form with two users working on it at the same time.
The “smart” form part 2 Click next or previous or navigate to move through form Answering yes will activate further questions Auto-saves BUT will lock you out of system >20min
Filter questions For MScs: do not require ethical approval from LSHTM BUT still submitted as per other types of studies Some questions have help boxes
