Original Program Details • One year grant for $139,773 • Designed to teach entry-level workers the basic skills required to be successful in the energy efficiency and construction industries • WFL BOCES has partnered with Monroe Community College, Finger Lakes Community College, Finger Lakes and Rochester Works, Genesee Valley Workforce Investment Board, and the Center for Energy Efficient Building Systems

Major Features • Program is called B.E.S.T. –Basic Energy Skills Training • Integrates Energy Efficiency in Core Construction • Funds a half time Internship Coordinator • Funds equipment • Funds 600 Instructor hours – which includes curriculum development, travel to multiple sites and instructor training

  4. Target Populations • GED Students • Unemployed/Under-employed Adults • Dislocated Workers • Disadvantaged/Incumbent Workers • Incarcerated Individuals Transitioning out of County Facilities
