Paul Revere’s Ride • The British began to march from Boston to Concord to seize military supplies and arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock. • Paul Revere learned of the British plans. • He rode with William Dawes and Samuel Prescott to Lexington and Concord to warn the militias.
The Shot Heard Round the World • The first shot at Lexington was known as “the shot heard round the world.” • The British won the Battle of Lexington. • The British didn’t find weapons at Concord and began to retreat to Boston. They were fired on by the militias.

The Battle of Bunker Hill • The Patriots wanted to control the hills outside of Boston. • They built a fort on Breed’s Hill. • The British attacked the hill. They were held back but the Patriots ran out of ammunition. • The British won the Battle of Bunker Hill but lost a lot of men.
