Confirmation of Two SMV Resistance Genes in J05 Soybean Using SSR Markers Ainong Shi, Pengyin Chen, Cuiming Zheng, Innan Martinez, Bo Zhang, Anfu Hou, and Dexiao Li University of Arkansas
Soybean Mosaic Virus (SMV) • SMV is the most destructive viral disease in soybean. • Seven SMV strains G1 to G7 were identified in U.S. • Genetic resistance is the primary method of controlling this disease. • Three loci, Rsv1, Rsv3, and Rsv4 have been identified.

SUMMARY • J05 is resistant to all seven U. S. SMV strains • The resistance to SMV strain G1 was controlled by Rsv1 on MLG F and to G7 by Rsv3 on MLG B2 in J05. • Two genetic maps were constructed for Rsv1 and Rsv3 regions in J05.
