Love God with all thy heart (Mk. 12:30). D. Does NOT Mean Sinful Things Are Pure (Gen. 3; Titus 1:15b; 3:3)! E. The pure in heart shall see God (Mt. 5:8; 1 John 4:19-22).
PURITY OF HEART Titus 1:15 III. SIN CORRUPTS THE HEART A. Adam & Eve after sin (Gen. 3:7-8). B. Corrupt in mind (1 Tim. 6:5; Eph. 5:4). C. Exercised in covetousness (2 Pet. 2:14). D. Willful disobedience (Acts 7:51-53)! E. Enjoy sin (Mt. 24:48; Acts 28:27)! F. Simple / naivety / inexperience (Rom. 16:18; Pr. 1:4, 22; 7:7; 27:12; Mt. 10:16)! G. Results in a heart far from God (Mk. 7:6; Gen. 6:5-6; Eph. 4:30-32)!
PURITY OF HEART Titus 1:15 III. HOW DO WE CLEANSE OUR HEARTS? A. If you were raised in it – you can turn away from it (Ezk. 18:14-20)! B. If you committed it – you can turn from it (Ezk. 18:21-23)! “Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. (Ezk. 18:30-32).
PURITY OF HEART Titus 1:15 IV. BE MADE CLEAN! A. Obey the gospel (1 Pet. 1:22-23)! Obey the word (John 15:3-4, 10, 14)! Obey the doctrine (Rom. 6:16-18)! B. Once in truth, ABIDE (1 Tim. 1:3-5). Be renewed in mind & in knowledge (Eph. 4:23; Col. 3:10). Cast down every thought that is contrary to God’s will (2 Cor. 10:3-5; Eph. 6:10, 13-18). ARE YOU PURE IN HEART?
