Page 2 • Validation checks help ensure that data has been input and stored on a computer is reasonable • Field check makes sure that the number of characters of data in a field is no longer than maximum • Format check makes sure that the data is expected format • Range check makes sure that data falls within a sensible range • Presence check makes sure that data that is required is entered
Page 3 • Internal output is for the audience within an organization • External output is for the audience outside the organization • Turnaround output is for the external audience but they add data to it and return it to the organization • Tables are very straightforward way of summarizing information and are often produced in spreadsheet
