8. His father died in 1888.Then in 1888 he sailed from Bombay to England to study law. He became a lawyer. He went to south Africa to file a case . Out there he was ill-treated by the British . So he fought for the South Africans . When he came to India he fought for the Indians. He told his people not to buy things made in foreign countries . 10. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi born on 2 October 1869and died on 30 January 1948).He was commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi .He was the preeminent leader of Indian nationalism in British-ruled India.
