  2. Background • Indicators published in Yearbook of Statistics and World Telecommunication Indicators database • Based on Telecommunication Indicator Handbook • Updated during the last World Telecommunication Indicators Meeting, January 2003

Guidelines • International comparability: Trade-off between wish list (everything!) and most important and most likely to collect from most countries • Telecom sector mandate: Subscriber, tariffs, traffic, revenue statistics, etc. • Audience: Analysts, governments • To be collected by regulators/ministries from operators
