Product features: DHW tank Tank performance: heat-up time (calculations) Size of the coil: length of 23m, surface area of 1,56m², internal coil volume of 7,5L Calculation example: ERSQ016AAV1 with EKHTS200 tank Up to a DHW temperature of 70°C, the part load capacity of the heat pump can still be exchanged to the DHW with the 1,56m² coil
Product features: DHW tank Tank performance: heat losses Total capacity = internal volume of the tank (= effective water volume + coil volume Actual capacity = effective water volume inside the tank
Product features: DHW tank Tank performance: heat-up time and reheat time
Product features: DHW tank Different possibilities to produce DHW Reheat operation: has always priority above space heating Disinfection operation: has always priority above space heating • Storage operation • automatic operation (night and/or day timer) • manual operation • Storage operation has priority above space heating, taking in account: • min/max running timers • smart logic function
Product features: DHW tank Tank performance: maximum volume of usable hot water
Product features: User interface User interface is mounted separately from indoor unit User interface can be used as a modulating room thermostat Optimized efficiency due to feedback of room temperature Optimized changeover from DHW heating to space heating Option kit: Remote user interface EKRUAHTA The same controller as supplied with indoor unit can be mounted parallel or on other location. If 2 controllers are installed, the installer needs to select 1 master & 1 slave. Not possible to use both user interfaces as a multi zone application (e.g. one in living room, other one in the kitchen)
Product features: Control possibilities Weather dependent floating setpoint: TLWC = f(Ta) 1 Thermostat control: user interface as room thermostat or normal room thermostat 2 Thermostatic valve 3 2 ROOM 1 master room (eg living room) ROOM 2 ROOM 3 Ta T Tl thermostatic valve: temperature control by liquid or gas expansion room thermostat radiator valve 3 6 settings 1 2 3 4 5 Weather dependent floating setpoint TLWC 20°C 1 ON/OFF-valve manual control temperature control 7°C 27°C Ta
Product features: Full H/P tariff Equipment allows for connection to a benefit kWh rate power supply New on Daikin Altherma HT Controllers are connected to a normal power connection When the benefit kWh rate power supply is interrupted, the compressor will stop operating, but there is no chance that the settings will be lost during longer power shutdowns
Ta 5°C 3°C Time Product features: zone 2 and zone 3 model Freeze protection for outdoor unit: bottom plate heater • A bottom plate heater will be standard in areas where low ambient temperatures can occur together with high humidity conditions (zone 2 model ERRQ), in other countries a bottom plate heater is available as an option (zone 3 model ERSQ). • To protect the outdoor unit against severe ice build-up on the air-cooled coil New on Daikin Altherma HT The bottom plate heater has no external thermostat, but is controlled by the PCB of the indoor unit • ON/OFF depending on: • Hysteresis: 3° < Ta < 5° • Unit operation status
Product features: zone 2 and zone 3 model ‘cold’ climate Zone 2 model ERRQ: Outdoor unit is equipped with a Bottom plate heater zone 2 Zone 2 + 3 > 85% of the heating market zone 3 Zone 3 model ERSQ: Bottom plate heater as an option ‘mild’ climate Zone 2 countries: Only access to zone 2 models Zone 3 and 4 countries: Access to both models

Applications examples Space heating & DHW heating: 1 RC in living room • No frequent start/stop of the unit and no big temperature fluctuations in the room • Smart logic functionality which controls the combined space heating and DHW demand
Applications examples Space heating & DHW heating: 1 RC in living room, 1RC near the unit The main remote controller (C1) is installed in the living room and can access all settings (master). The second remote controller (C2) can not access schedule and parameter settings (slave)
Applications examples Space heating & DHW heating: 1 external RT in living room, 1RC near the unit There is only room thermostat on/off control. There is no smart logic functionality for space heating, DHW operation is performed according to the min/max timer operation Daikin can not guarantee neither good operation nor reliability of the system, if a non-Daikin thermostat is used (= NO WARRANTY)
UFH 30°C 35°C 30°C 65°C 30°C Applications examples Multiple setpoint control Space 0: Radiators Tsetpoint = 65°C Space 1: Fan Coil Units Tsetpoint = 45°C Space 2: Under Floor Heating Tsetpoint = 35°C If there is a heat demand from space 0, the leaving water temperature delivered by the Daikin system is too high A Temperature reducing device (TRD) is required for space 1 and 2, to lower the water temperature TRD When TRD’s are installed, the system can be configured to use multiple water set point. • The TRD’s are field supply • Control of the TRD’s is not done by the heat pump system • Operation and configuration of the TRD’s is the responsibility of the installer Daikin only offers the possibility to have multiple set points
Applications examples Space heating & DHW heating: Radiators and UFH, DHW tank parallel • 2 space heating setpoints • 1 DHW setpoint no 3-way valve The DHW tank is installed in parallel with the TRD’s. This allows operating the unit in space heating and DHW heating simultaneously
Applications examples Space heating & DHW heating: Radiators / FCU / UFH, DHW tank in a separate circuit • 3 space heating setpoints • 1 DHW setpoint [b-03] The DHW tank is installed in a separate circuit of the TRD’s. This configuration does not allow simultaneous DHW heating and space heating operation.
Applications examples Space heating & DHW heating: space heating with an auxiliary boiler (alternating operation) • Bivalent operation is only possible for space heating operation, not for DHW heating operation • An auxiliary contact decides whether either the Daikin unit or the boiler will operate (e.g. outdoor thermostat, electricity tariff contact, manually operated contact)
