  1. Lecture3: Signals, Spectrum Anders Västberg vastberg@kth.se 08-790 44 55

  2. Signals • Deterministic Signals • Stochastic Signals

  3. Deterministic Signals Periodic Aperiodic Sinusoid Non sinusoid Almost periodic Transient Deterministic signals

  4. Stochastic signals Stationary Non-stationary Ergodic Non-ergodic Stochastic signals

  5. Sinusoidal Function

  6. Fourier Series

  7. Time and Frequency Domain

  8. Spectrum

  9. Sampled Signals and Spectrum Nyquist’s Sampling Theorem statesi.e. the sampling frequency must be at least twice the bandwidth of the signal [Soliman & Srinath, 1990]

  10. Relation between bandwidth and data rate Data rate = Pulses / Time

  11. Homework before F4 • Vad är mottagen effekt i Watt, om EIRP är 20 dBm, avståndet 2 km, mottagartennen har en antennvinst på 10 dB. Antag frekvensen 4 GHz och fri rymdutbredning.
