  2. The Tariff sets out the value of FE sector teaching and training legacy qualifications against the new requirements in England. • Legacy qualifications are those ITT qualifications awarded prior to September 2007. What is the Tariff?

  3. It is a tool that enables existing members of the FE workforce to • determine how they match to the requirements of their role, of either full or associate teacher. What is the Tariff?

  4. It ensures that those working towards professional standing, and ultimately licensed status, start their journey at the appropriate stage. A key benefit of the Tariff

  5. requirements for teaching practice or assessed teaching observations • optional units (it only relates to mandatory units) The Tariff does not cover

  6. Stage 1 establishes whether legacy qualifications have sufficient coverage in relation to the mandatory units of the new qualifications. The Tariff tables indicate which units of new qualifications have sufficient coverage (Full Tariff) and which have insufficient coverage (Part Tariff). The two parts of the Tariff

  7. Stage 2 identifies potential areas for development. Where there is a Part Tariff, specific areas for development are identified. Awarding institutions may wish to support learners in providing evidence either through top up modules or APEL to ensure sufficient coverage. The two parts of the Tariff

  8. Stage 2 continued For all qualifications with either Full or Part Tariff there have been changes over time. These elements may not be covered in the legacy qualification and could be addressed through CPD. The two parts of the Tariff

HR/Staff Development Departments of employing organisations to identify • the value and appropriateness of legacy qualifications that employees hold for their current teaching role • professional development opportunities to cover changes over time that may not have been covered in legacy qualifications Who can use the Tariff?
