back Step X- DECISIONS • Decisions, decisions… how art thou to make DECISIONS! OMG!
Step X- DECISIONS • This is not really about how people make momentary decisions, although it is a big part of it. This is more, in our people to people industry, a look at how we relate to others. • Let’s take a look at that former example… See the top bar… and the box above it? The end of the bar gives us the level of the individual’s relationship tendencies.
Step X- DECISIONS • Yes, there are certain communication tendencies we cannot ignore in this trait. • But, overall, we are interested in how much of the marketplace can this person relate to. • For example low Feeling or emotional people, the bar to the left, have a hard time with the factual folks to the right.
Step X- DECISIONS • In fact, we can make this somewhat humorous, by simply playing up that discord. • The factual, logical person is always seen by the emotional as robotic and inhuman…
Step X- DECISIONS • While the Logical person sees those emotionals as whackos. • You can guess that they do not sell to each other very well. So, we prefer to find people with the Decisions bar ending near the middle. This means they relate to everyone!
Step X- DECISIONS • But, especially on the emotional side, there are some caveats that stand out in our industry. • Emotional people have a harder time with rejection, on the phone or off. They can quickly become defensive, and even bolt!
Step X- DECISIONS • The care and feeding of the emotional types, especially with high Extroversion, is mostly a matter of stroking the ego, making them feel better, and encouraging them, even in discipline. • And, they hate to feel isolated. They need to know they are part of the team and they are doing well at their level. Touching base a couple of times a week can help…
Step X- DECISIONS • The logical people are not totally without emotions, however. Hence the aloofness and the tendency to deride the ‘other people.’ But they can get just as angry and lash out, all it takes is the wrong push. They just don’t need as much care and feeding.
Step X- DECISIONS • In fact, it can be said they don’t care, when in fact, that is their private face. Inside, they care that they succeed, that they fit in, and that they are doing well… Just like the Emotional type, but with less urgency.
Step X- DECISIONS • Okay, we have come full circle on the reports, but we have not yet added in the little details you find in hidden places. Perhaps you know what they are, and in that case, please explain them to me off the coming list… that might save us some time.
Step X- DECISIONS • What are the numbers under the ruler, on the left, next to the private and public self legend? • What is Reasoning Aptitude? What does a ‘0’ mean? • Explain consistency factors…
The Ten Step Training Program • Wow, we did it! We covered all the basics, gave you enough to sound like an expert, which you will do as you begin to read more and more of these. • Now, it is a matter of practice, one after another. But first, let’s list the functions you must do for each read…
Step by Step • You need worksheets, a ruler, the ‘word graph sheet,’ which allows you to generate adjectives, and your computer. • You will install a copy of Corel Wordperfect 9 in order to establish your database. I will help you with this once it is installed. You will only need one part of that, Paradox. • We will practice daily with a selection of profiles that come in each day.
back Step by Step • You can usually look up the profile in your training book, such as ACNEP and so on, just keeping in mind that intensity is not indicated in those reports. But they are in most computer reports, and you are probably already familiar with that process. • Most of the paper and pencil tools are soon bypassed, as you learn what the profile can do.
