Continuing our journey, we’ll stop in Ávila – an impressive small town encircled by a breathtaking wall.

Salamanca Our home for one week
Students have time to explore this ancient city after classes.
Our meeting place every afternoon is the central “Plaza mayor”
The students will tour the city with their Spanish professors and take group photos at Salamanca’s most famous monuments.
On Wednesday, weather permitting, we will leave for the medieval city of Segovia
This aqueduct was built in the first century by the Romans. It stands without mortar and stretches from . . .…
one end of the city … … to the other.
We walk through narrow streets to visit the Alcazar, and stand in the throne room of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel.
During the Middle Ages the monarchs of Castile made the Alcazar a frequent place of residence. The Castle was a key fortress for the control over Castile. Climb up to the top of the tower through a circular staircase of uneven stone steps to see a magnificent view of the city.
Stand in the throne room of Los Reyes Catolicos where history was made. View the wall in the Galley Chamber showing Queen Isabel the Catholic being proclaimed the Queen of Castile and Leon.
Students will have time to explore, shop, and eat before we head back home to Salamanca.
