  10. 2. IS IT AN EXAGGERATION OF GOD’S WORD? • 1 Cor. 4:6 - learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up • Rev. 22:18 – If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues of this book

  11. 2. IS IT AN EXAGGERATION OF GOD’S WORD? “We are measuring everything by the Word, every experience must measure up to the Bible. Some say that is going too far, but if we have lived too close to the Word, we will settle that with the Lord when we meet Him in the air.” - William Seymour

  12. 3. IS IT A BIBLICAL NORM OR A PASSING FAD? • Acts 19:12 – Prayer Cloths? • Eph. 5:18 – Holy Laughter? • Acts 5:15 – Shadow Ministry? • Acts 2:1-4 – Wind? Fire? Speaking in tongues?

  13. 4. WHO IS GETTING THE GLORY? • John 16:14-15; not even the Holy Spirit takes glory away from Jesus Christ • Isaiah 42:8; God shares His glory with no man

  14. 4. WHO IS GETTING THE GLORY? An anointing is not an endorsement! Matthew 7:22-23

  15. 5. IS THE WORD OF GOD BEING PROCLAIMED? Preach the Word! 2 Timothy 4:2-4

  16. 6. ARE SINNERS BEING SAVED? • Acts 1:8 – you shall receive power to be witnesses… • Mark 2:10 – that you may know that the Son of Man has power to forgive sins

  17. DISCERNING SIGNS & WONDERS • What does the Bible Say? • Is it an exaggeration of Scripture? • Is it a biblical norm or a passing fad? • Who is getting the glory? • Is God’s Word being proclaimed? • Are sinners being saved?
