Jan 5 - 15 2004 • COC-X - DARPA • Basic objectives • “ring out” COC computer / voice procedures • Verify PC configuration (LMR, tracking s/w) • Demonstrate ESTOP • Key components • 56 Iridium SBD trackers being tracked around Beltway for multiple days – system works as planned • 5 ESTOP pairs + masters – demo functionality, demo ability to down load data and store screen shot into computer memory • Conference call to simulate / emulate voice traffic – call out waypoints, logging procedures, etc. • Real Time Tracking - DARPA • Demo (Mindtel) of basic application functionality • 5 PCs in the 5 “tracking” vehicles (1 each) / 1 PC to monitor tracks in real-time (Verizon radio card) • Compare results w/ Iridium SBD (Be aware of Verizon QoS setting up our latency – not an issue in DCG • SCORE / CenGen - SOCAL • Outfit 3 trucks (F-250s) • Build mounting plates, test mount h/w
Jan 16 2004 • Mindtel, Omnitech, SRA, CenGen, SCORE (?) • All real-time tracking hands meeting – DC • Assess Real-time tracking • Application status - MindTel • Multicast s/w status – Omnitech • Vehicle configuration status – CenGen • Ready to test in the field review • Is Omnitech ready to test LOS relays • Is CenGen ready to test satellite phone options
Jan 19 – 28 2004 • Field testing of Real-Time Tracking Options • Omnitech • Will be ready to test using at least 1 balloon and two fixed (uWave) tower location • And three mobile nodes • CenGen • Will be ready to test using at least five satellite phones • Omnitech will provide multicast s/w tool • Mindtel will provide application to graph the location of mobile nodes from a “monitor” point • SCORE – 5 trucks online • Most likely scenario has us using • /X as the “base” of operations (SAF) • Setup “tower” at SAF for terrestrial relay • Use balloon in “open area” (high pt) for one test • Use balloon in “switch backs (high pt) for another test • Use 1st (heading toward Primm) uWave tower as terrestrial relay attachment point • Move 3 (up to 5 if h/w supports) CVs between /X to beyond 1st uWave tower • Verify connectivity / ability to track • Using terrestrial relay (Omnitech) and Satellite phone (CenGen) • Objective 1 – assess readiness to support real-time tracking • Objective 2 – enable a decision as to pursue • An all terrestrial real-time tracking solution • An all satellite real-time tracking solution • A mix (extra $) • Verify functional COC PSTN connectivity • Between uWave towers • To external entities
Feb 2 – 8 2004 • 2 Feb – receive ESTOP units from Teams • Procure / install h/w for selected option • Update to latest application load - MindTel • Outfit CVs – 25/28 • Test placement of bridges if all terrestrial option selected
Feb 9-15 2004 • Objectives 9-13 Feb • Support COC training • Using as much of real-time tracking as possible • Use Iridium SBD at a minimum • Verify terrestrial Voice comms • Test real-time tracking • Objective 14/15 Feb • Static test of real-time tracking system • 25 CVs, parked (Primm) run for multiple hours • Mobile run of course to support / demo real-time tracking capability • Monitor from COC
Feb 16 - 29 2004 • 16 Feb – return ESTOP units to teams • Send Iridium SBD units to teams • Objectives • “clean-up” real-time tracking • Using 5 spare ESTOP tracking sets • Test QID PSTN connectivity • Setup routes for QID • Test tracking connectivity QID – COC • Add CV “tracking” laptop to CV if funded • Test functionality
March 1 - 14 2004 • Support training • Support QID • Support DCG
