  3. What is “soft news?” Soft news is news that is light in nature and it usually does not matter when this type of news is broadcast or printed. Topics for this type of news include lifestyle, fashion, entertainment, celebrity gossip, and exposés on politicians lives. Soft news is often sensationalized.
