Graphing! Now that you’ve seen the Scores in the tables, use your calculator to graph the points shown. Write down the window you used. Once you have graphed both sets of data, determine the lines of best fit for each set.
Question? Based on the results you’ve made, do you think women will ever catch up to men ? Explain why or why not if yes, what year?
Check out how its done!!! • An Inward 1-1/2 Somersault Pike • An Inward 1-1/2 Somersault Pike (front view) • An Inward 1-1/2 Somersault Pike (comparison view) • An Inward 1-1/2 Somersault Pike (VR view) • A Backward 1-1/2 Somersault Pike with 1/2 Twist • A Backward 1-1/2 Somersault Pike with 1/2 Twist (comparison view) • A Backward 1-1/2 Somersault Pike with 1/2 Twist (VR view) • A Reverse 3-1/2 Somersault Tuck http://gvu.cc.gatech.edu/animation/Areas/humanMotion/diver.html
Answeres! • Window: • X-min = 1940, X-max = 2010, X-scl = 10 • Y-min = 0, Y-max = 900, Y-scl = 100 • Linear Equations: • Men’s – Year = 13.73x + 26660 • Women’s- Year = 10.71x + 20834 • Catching up? • Women will most likely catch up to men because the graph shows women’s points getting higher at a faster rate, but because of the outlier and the score change in 1972, the line of best fit is off! Although we are not sure yet due to science because human DNA is becoming an interest of modification.
