Know Your Role • Starts with Administrators!! • Clearly Communicate Your Role • Open Communication • Expectations & Boundaries • Accountability
Identify Who You Want To Build Relationships With… • Principal/Administrators • Teachers/Support Staff/Ministry Team • Parents/Grandparents/Guardians • Students • Pastor(s)/Church Staff • Congregation • Parent Driven Programs (i.e. PTL. Boosters,) • Alumni
Get To Know Your Ministry Team • What are their strengths & weaknesses? • What is unique about them? • How do they view YOUR role? • What would like to see happen at your school? • What do they want potential families to know about your school?
Plan Ahead & Be Specific!!! • Communicate your plans fully and in advance • Be mindful of their time
Ask for Insight & Feedback • This is what I want to accomplish & why • This is how I envision your role • How do WE make it happen? • How do you recommend that I contact • What did they think? • What would they do to make it better? • What can WE add or do different?
Acknowledge Their Contributions • Send Thank You notes • List their names on the website • Acknowledge them in front of their piers and visitors
Be Available • A little goes a long way!!!
Encourage Your Ministry Team • Cards • Emails • Prayers • Visits
Ideas… • Get To Know You Lunch • Appreciation Breakfast • Thank You/Thinking of You Cards
Parents • Be Consistent in Your Follow Up • Listen to what they are saying…and what they are not saying • Help them connect with others

Students • Be Present • Call them by name • Recognize positive behavior
Ideas… • Social Media “Shout Outs” • Student Ambassadors • Welcome gift (i.e. pencil, t-shirts, hats)
Pastor(s)/Church Staff/Congregation • How can the school spiritually support the Church • Chapel Reminders • Church Ambassadors
Ideas… • Monthly Class Features before Worship • Church Ambassadors make announcements • Use the “WE” mentality • Partner with Outreach for Events & Marketing
