Plug in Hybrid Shunting Locomotive • Introducing a high efficient intelligent hybrid locomotive • The second Hybrid Locomotive in the world • The first plug in hybrid concept in the world • 50 to 80 percent reduction in diesel fuel consumption • Cut air emissions by 80%
Plug in Hybrid Shunting Locomotive • A G12 locomotive is converted to hybrid by a cost of around $100,000
Hybrid Technology • Using advanced AC system • Advanced inverters with Skiip Semikron IGBTs • Recovering brake energy by regenerative braking • Noise-less especially at stand still and idle times • Diesel generator downsizing from 1000 kVA to 50 kVA • Better maneuver especially when the direction is changed • Cost saving up to $700,000 / Locomotive • Possibility of using the old system chassis and converting that to a very efficient modern system • Cruise control option outside the station yard • Able to carry 10 wagons with 400 Tons pay load • Up to 60 km/h at zero slope

DEVELOPMENT STATUS • Prototype is built and tested • More powerful Hybrid Locomotives are Designed (Up to 2000 HP) • Proposal is sent to Railway system to built 50 locomotives by overhaul the old G12 locomotives • Can Hybridize the line locomotives that bring 15% saving in the diesel fuel consumption and 2000 HP power boost for 4000 HP Alstom Diesels
