The common description being excess sugar in the blood is hugely misunderstood. 2. population, it is now the most widely found illness affecting more than 65 million Indians and is thought to be accelerating at a steady rate.   People have either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, both preventing them from indulging in sweet and calorific diet, along with a constant hover in the mind of‘ How do I keep my diabetes in control and prevent permanent damage?’ With the ever growing competition and demands of our life, we need a solution for keeping sugar levels in control in a way that is easy and manageable. This auto-immune disease, which has no cure at the moment can still be controlled and treated with little changes in our lifestyle and routine. Management of the disease The first and foremost thing to be done is to stop eating refined carbohydrates( Pasta, Bread ,packaged meal)  and most importantly sweets.  Healthy eating is the bedrock of Healthy Living –with or without Diabetes and in case of diabetes being cautious about the food you eat , the type of food combination you eat and the portion you eat it in matters a great deal. A well- balanced diet/meal is one of major keys towards positive management of Diabetes. But Can the ‘Strict Diet’ plan take over Diabetes? Well in some cases it does and in some it does not, gradually our busy lives and schedules take over the big time healthy diet plan which possibly lasts for 2-3 months at maximum and later the consumption of packaged food or street food which leads to increased blood sugar levels  creating the most hazardous case scenario for a diabetic. High Blood sugar or Glucose Level lead to symptoms such as blurred vision, fatigue, irritability, etc. Some people try medicines or insulins to cope with the situation and rather end up being dependent on drugs for the rest of their lives. Thus, the effective strategy of Strict Diet plan fails due to lack of time or may be management skills and the disease fails to be managed. Exercise to the rescue What most people don’t realize is that apart from medicines and a well-controlled diet, Exercise is the other crucial factor that will help you cope up with diabetes positively. Exercise is scientifically proven and highly recommended by doctors to be the safest, most effective and facile method to keep sugar levels in control, not to mention the other numerous benefits of exercising on the mind and body. Stronger bones, muscles, higher energy, better sleep are among the few benefits of physical exercise. Just 30 mins of physical exercise be it jogging, walking or maybe a massage(foot massage, leg massage, full body massage can help. You can also use a good massage chair to get a good massage in your busy schedule.) can boost your overall well-being. A natural and perfect way to keep diabetes under control. With the kind of work people have these days, a treadmill , massage chair or Vibration Machine  at home is the most convenient option in fact any thing that allows your physical movement  and gets you on your legs as and when your professional life allows is a savior. It not only saves time but seeing a treadmill or any other

  3. equipment right in front of your eyes will constantly keep motivating and reminding you that you need to get up, wear those shoes and start running for a independent & better tomorrow. Time and comfort come as additional benefits in such case.   How exercise helps During exercise, the muscles use up the extra sugar in the blood for energy, automatically reducing sugar levels. Whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, exercise helps them both. It either acts like insulin, breaking down sugar in blood or reduces your insulin tolerance, ensuring the effective reduction of glucose.  Thus promoting overall well-being of mind and body. In the long term, it will help you reduce some pounds, again reducing  stress & anxiety ,lower blood pressure, reduction of harmful cholesterol etc. The benefits are numerous and beyond count. Exercise for prevention Working out is not just something to be followed by diabetics. With the ever-growing rate of diabetes diagnosis, every individual is at risk of developing the disease at some point or the other. Some factors which can contribute to the onset of the disorder such as genes and age are not under our control. But we can certainly control other factors in our lifestyle to minimize and probably even  offset the chances of acquiring it. Exercise boosts up your immune system, making you less vulnerable to diseases. It  also reduces  weight, putting you off the category of obese and overweight, who are significantly more susceptible to getting diabetes.   Whether you are diabetic or a non-diabetic, there’s nothing more safe and beneficial than exercise.  Taking out 30 mins a day, for yourself, for your health proves to be a very smart choice in the long term and is also quite a manageable task due to beneficiaries such as treadmills, vibration plates, foot massagers and the list goes on.
