WP8: Monitoring the Enwise follow-up activities

This project aims to monitor the implementation of Enwise recommendations at the national level, establish contacts with relevant bodies, and raise gender awareness in the scientific community. National reports and a summary report on the findings will be prepared.

Objective of WP Monitor implementation of Enwise recommendations at national level • establish contacts with national bodies • this will also contribute to raising general gender awareness in the scientific community and disseminate knowledge about the project • identify key issues to be monitored based on the Enwise report and recommendations • prepare national reports and a summary report on the findings of the monitoring

Expectations from all the involved partners • establish contacts with relevant bodies at national level • identify key issues relevant for national level monitoring • establish mechanisms for national level monitoring and execute them • write national report about the situation (mid. term report, final report – in national language and English), contribute to the final summary report • help in organization workshops for promoting the monitoring findings and science in general

Workshops In general: raising awareness about the Enwise report and its findings In particular the first workshop proposal • Workshop to encourage discussion on key issues to monitor and exchange opinion/experience in identifying relevant national bodies • Location proposal: associated to the conference in Tallinn, September 9-10, 2004

  5. Future workshops • workshop at national level to: • raise awareness about Enwise report • discuss particular national key issues • workshop at international level later in the project to exchange experience • workshops to help promoting science in general • other ideas on the focus/location for workshops welcome....

  6. Discussion • potential further contribution by partners, • eg., JSI initiative to contribute to image of science by • developing a questionnaire for students to access situation and potential changes (possibly an extension of a questionnaire on on fellowship influence on young scientists) • develop award for science-friendly organization/group at national and EU level • develop materials promoting “science for all” • ......
