American Crystallographic Association Summer Course in Chemical CrystallographyJune 18th – June 27th 2012, University of Notre Dame Meeting of the American Crystallographic AssociationJuly 28th – August 1th 2012, Boston, MATatiana Timofeeva, New Mexico Highlands UniversityDMR 0934212 Poster Session on ACA Meeting Organizer Allen Oliver with students from NMHU Workshop on OLEX-2 PREM supported students presentations in research conferences and summer schools.

  2. Crystal engineering of two component molecular nonlinear optical materials Tatiana Timofeeva, New Mexico Highlands University, DMR 0934212 Molecular cocktails with a twist To make organic crystals useful for TeraHerz Generation (airport screening machines) and Non-Linear Optical applications (optical switches) crystal structure of materials should be acentric. To obtain materials with acentric structure crystal engineering approach was applied. Mixture of two individual organic compounds crystallize in new acentric material which acentricity controlled by specific “twisting agent ”. So far several acentric materials were obtained and one of them demonstrated significant nonlinearities.
