Biography ofTim Tebow • Quarterback of the Florida Gators • First sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy • Became a D 1-A recruit • As a senior, he was ranked among the top quarterback prospects in the nation • Attended University of Florida over University of Alabama • Maxwell Award as the nation’s top football player • Davey O’Brien Award as the nation’s best quarterback • James E. Sullivan Award as the nation’s most outstanding amateur athlete in any sport.

Early Life/Personal • Born August 1, 1987 in the Philippines • Tim’s mom (Pam) suffered a life-threatening infection while carrying Tim • Doctors recommended her get an abortion to protect her life, but instead she went with having the baby, and like a miracle just happened, they both survived. • Tim was homeschooled by his mom with his other siblings • In 1996 legislation was passed allowing homeschooled students to compete in local high school sporting events. • While being homeschooled, Tim played quarterback for Nease High School • Tim was named the state of Florida’s player of the year his junior and senior year of high school • He ended his high school career by play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game in San Antonio, Texas where the top 78 senior high school football players in the nation • Tim was considered on the of nations top recruits • Tim was thinking about continuing his football career after high school at Alabama, but instead he chose the University of Florida, where his parents first met as students.

College Career 2006 Started career at Florida in 2006 • listed by Sports Illustrated as college football's future top mobile quarterback • Tebow made his college debut by coming off from the bench and rushed for a touchdown against Southern Miss. • Biggest game was against LSU on October 7th • Against LSU he accounted all 3 touchdowns but rushing one and passing for the other two. • Florida Gators won the BCS National Championship game against Ohio St. • Finished 2006 season with the second most rushing yards on the team

  5. 2007 • Became the starting quarterback for the Gators • Named one of the Breakout Players of 2007 • Opened the year 13 of 17 for 300 years and 3 touchdowns against Western Kentucky University. • Broke school record for rushing yards by a quarterback in one game. • Broke second record on Nov 10 for rushing touchdowns in a season • Set a career high with 5 rushing touchdown • November 17th, Tebow set a new conference record for most rushing touchdowns in a season • became the only person ever in NCAA History to score 20 touchdowns rushing and 20 touchdowns passing in the same season • On December 8, Tebow received the Heisman Trophy for the most outstanding college football player of the year

  6. 2008 • Tebow broke the school record for rushing touchdowns previously held by his teammate Emmitt Smith • Led the gators to a 12-1 record • Won the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division Title and won the SEC championship game against Alabama. • Tebow appeared on the cover of Men’s Fitness Magazine • Won Maxell Award

  7. 2009 • Put in 2nd place on the all time SEC touchdown list • Tebow suffered a very bad concussion against the University of Kentucky • Taken to the hospital in Kentucky for a CT scan, and found out that he suffered a mild concussion. • October 31 Tebow broke the SEC career record for rushing touchdowns • Florida lost to the University of Alabama in the 2009 SEC Championship • Tebow’s last college football game was taken place in the 2010 Sugar Bowl • In his last game, he had 533 yards of total offense and was accounted for four touchdowns in a 51–24 win against Cincinnati

  8. 2010(NFL DRAFT) • Tebow passed up the 2009 NFL draft to finish his senior year with the Gators • Automatically entered the NFL draft in 2010 • Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach said “he can revolutionize the pro game” • Former Indianapolis coach said “he would pick Tebow with a top 10 pick and would take him over any quarterback in the NFL draft” • Some people questioned if Tebow could actually be a quarterback in the NFL • Tebow was predicted to get the first round pick and be apart of the Jacksonville Jaguars

Life As A Pro Football Player • Number one topic in Denver • Selected by the Broncos in the first round (25th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft • Agreed and signed a five year, $33 million contract with the Broncos • 3rd string quarterback, but will eventually progress to be the starting quarterback for the Denver broncos • 3 Passing Yards • 1 Touchdown • 118.8 Quarterback rating
