Web Information Manager • To develop and maintain the architecture and manage the content of SLAC’s central web space. • Create, maintain, and manage top level SLAC home pages • Provide web users and authors with procedures, support, and training • Manage SLAC’s AFS and NT web server space • 50% position, established 4/1/98 • Report to head of Technical Information Services • Ex-Officio member of Web-CC • Member of InfoForum and Web-Tech committees

Revised Home Pages • WWWCC Ad Hoc Committee to Revise Highlighted and Detailed Home Pages • Revision process began February 1997 • Implemented August 1998 • Updated Design • Tables with bulleted lists • Minimal descriptive text • New navigational features and buttons • Phonebook search on every page • Professional look and feel

Concerns • Web space allocated to employees who are gone • Instability of NT servers • still can’t offer new web space or assistance on www2 because new Athena server hasn’t been set up • Inappropriate use of web space • Next revision to home pages • Giving web authors the time to learn this technology
