Recruitment & Organising • Attracting members to stay a member of our unions:also a challenge!- As said before; soldiers base their membership on a cost-benefit analysis. They switch between unions! • However paradoxically members do not actually want to engage themselves in the work of the union • Again imported for us is: what do our members want?
Recruitment & Organising • Successful recruitment, than finish and relax? • Never! • Reporting by the Recruitment Coordinator to the Union Chairman why members end their membership • Our back-office checks why somebody leaves they union. Feedback procedures.

Recruitment & Organising • Retaining existing members, by offering them: • - Monthly magazine Oplinie & The Marechaussee with interesting articles for all generations • Yearly a (small) present to all our members in the mission areas (around Christmas) • Development of special working conditions
Recruitment & Organising • Retaining existing members, by offering them: • Promotion stands by the AFMP/FNV and MARVER/FNV during all major events in the Forces • Chairman and representatives of the board are present at major (military and political) events

Recruitment & Organising Retaining existing members can be a challenge: - Many members do not want to be involved in Union activities. Why bother when somebody else takes care? - Motivating members and non-members to join union meetings
Recruitment & Organising • Conclusion retaining existing members, by offering the same menu as to attract new members: • A monthly magazine and interesting articles on the Website. • Organising national meetings with a lunch and motivating agenda for all members! • - Media statements and interviews by the chairman on topics in the MOD and during missions
