  4. Who are Veterinarians? A biomedical scientist with variety of career opportunities relating to human and animal health. There are approximately 85,000 veterinarians in the United States. Approximately 85% are in private practice. “An MD whose practice is not limited to one species.”

  11. Becoming a Veterinarian • Four years of veterinary school after doing undergraduate work • Most programs require 3-4 years of undergraduate work • Limited number of positions for admission
