However, if you are in a car accident, suffer a heart attack or go into early labor, you must go to the emergency room. The ER is designed to treat traumatic injury and serious conditions that require a high level of emergency care including multiple types of diagnostic imaging such as CT scans and MRIs and lab tests.
Urgent care centers are designed to avoid long wait times. Because the conditions we treat don’t require extensive imaging and we don’t care for critically ill patients who arrive by ambulance, we can treat you when you arrive.
