ABOUT SSFL • STAIRS Started in 2014, the programme has created a platform to identify football talent at an early adolescent age and then provide him the best possible support to nurture the talent further. • So far the project has made a difference to about 2,048 children, and in its second phase it aims not only to double the reach but also to add more value to each life it touches.
SSFL will also enable the students to develop skills like teamwork and good sportsmanship. Engaging in football will also improve the overall health, stamina and agility of the students. • This initiative is created to make sure that each and every child gets to play as playing is a fundamental right of each child. SSFL is open to every school going child in India absolutely free.
OBJECTIVE • Change the sporting scenario in the country at the grassroots • Create opportunity by uprooting all obstacles to sporting talent in the hinterlands • Football Development in India, Grassroots Football Training • STAIRS Schools Football League (SSFL) concluded its final phase of Grassroots Training Camps for under 14 and under 17 girls and boys across Delhi. The training camps were conducted across various locations across 4 zones of Delhi.
Football against the law? • Early in the 20th century, football, as played on college gridirons, was something close to a street fight. • The rules were lax at best, and were routinely ignored. During the 1905 season alone, 18 college and amateur players died. • And despite the growing violence (or, who knows, maybe because of the growing violence), fans were flocking to the games -- the sport was gaining followers.
Football Rules OFFENSE DEFENSE • 11 members per side • Must be set before the play begins • 4 chances to go 10 yards • 11 members per side • Can be set or moving before the play begins
