  1. Overview on Internet connectivity solutions provided by VSAT companies in Africa Africa is the world’s second largest and second most populous continent, after Asia. Satellite communication in Africa or we can say Satellite Connectivity in Africa is playing an essential part in bridging connectivity gap in remote areas where telecom services and networks are sketchy. Many companies have cropped up across the continent that provides seamless VSAT C connectivity and more. The Internet has become a necessary part of every individual’s life, and that is why many VSAT companies have come up with various internet connectivity solutions, even in remote places. VSAT technology needs a frequency for operation, as any other mobile communication technology. C- band, Ku-band and Ka-Band in Africa are most prominently used by VSAT companies of today. C-band is known to be the first satellite band, and its frequencies range from 4Ghz to 8Ghz. This range of frequency is widely used by terrestrial microwave backhaul links nowadays. C-band is known to be less focused in comparison to higher satellite frequencies such as Ku-Band. This is due to the longer wavelength in C Band. Less focused signals imply to the fact that these signals are less affected by rain. Unlike C-Band, Ku band frequencies tend to be dedicated for satellite communication only.
