The MOGUL EMPIRE Akbar’s Rule • To keep empire unified Akbar won loyalty of non-Muslim subjects • Reformed and strengthened central government • Organized empire into provinces districts and villages • Nobles were allowed to keep their lands • Recognize Akbar as Emperor • Pay taxes • Supply troops on demand
