Flyers Contain: • Text – Concise and to the point. • Includes subject, date, time, price, location, etc. • Graphics • Pictures should be clear and sharp (not blurry). • Color – Includes text, background, and borders. • White space – Equal spacing between related text & graphics. • Should be Balanced.
Do be specific and consistent Do think about your target audience Do break flyer up into sections using CRAP. Do use KISS Principle (Keep It Simple Silly) – Say what you mean. Do use a.m. or AM / p.m. or PM Do use Bullet Lists Don’t overload the flyer with information Don’t say January 30th, 2012 – Should be January 30, 2012 or 30th of January. Don’t use 6:30-8 – Should be 6:30p.m.-8:00p.m. Don’t use 8 o’clock – Should be Eight O'clock. Don’t hyphenate words between lines. If a word doesn’t fit on a line, don’t hyphenate it. Do’s and Don’ts
