  3. Relevance Is Important • Students today need to feel that the instruction is relevant • Because the courses are reflecting trends and changes in industry, they are relevant

  4. Steps We Took To Achieve These Changes • Aware of trends and changes in business and industry • Fostered relationships among staff, administration, community members, and school board

  5. Necessary Steps For Implementation • Acquire permits • Get approval from board • Get licenses • Make applications • Acquire funding

  6. Creativity and Innovation Critical Thinking Problem Solving Collaboration Life and Career Skills Accountability and Adaptability Communication Skills Social Responsibility Teaching 21st Century Skills

  7. School Boards Role • Support innovative ideas • Ask questions about relevance of courses • Do the right thing for the students in your district
