Overtime compensation and weekly hours in MNE’s and domestic firms in M&E
II - Conclusions : social effects • Wages & hours • Hourly wages: 10-35% higher in MNE’s • However: weekly wages differ less because of lot of overtime and less overtime compensation in MNE’s • Job quality • Few differences on workstress • More promotion in MNE’s, except PL and ES • Much more reorganisations in MNE’s • Job satisfaction is higher in MNE’s • Training • Employer-provided training much more in MNE’s: both incidence and number of days • Industrial relations • Union density at par in MNE’s-domestic firms, but higher in DE, UK • Bargaining coverage much higher in MNE’s, except NL • Workplace representation much higher in MNE’s
