Charles Spurgeon “If I knew that I had 25 years left to live I’d spend 20 of it in preparation.”
A Good Beginning is No Guarantee For A Good Ending.
David’s first assignment after the anointing was to minister to a King who would SOON become his enemy.
Learning to deal with this enemy was a part of David’s PREPARATION to be KING.
1 Sam 18:7 And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. KJV
Joseph • Gifted • Favored • Anointed • But NOT Ready!
The Gift Was From God There was nothing wrong with Joseph’s Gift But There was a lot wrong with Joseph.
Let’s Look At Joseph’s Brothers We must first analyze the source of the brothers hatred of Joseph. Joseph was their fathers favorite since he was born the son of his old age.
The first dream was concerning the bundles of wheat. This meant that Joseph would rule them physically.
Dream Delayed! God would have to prepare Joseph for his destiny. Success could not come too soon.
They made the mistake of focusing on Joseph’s faults and dismissed the anointing. They didn’t understand that GOD would mold him into the a man who would be a blessing to his people.
They thought that by selling him into slavery that they could change his DESTINY!
They thought they could interfere with God’s plan for his life - But God was shifting him in the direction of his future.
They thought they could hinder his progress - But God was shifting him to greater purpose!
