Why Dual Enrollment? • Earn college credit while attending high school • College-certified instructors • Familiar surroundings • Credits earned transfer in-state and out-of-state • Be better prepared for a university experience • Save time and money • Lower tuition rates • No textbooks to buy!

  3. Why pay more? • Rio Salado College $76/credit • Northern Arizona University $428/credit* Arizona State University University of Arizona • * (average cost for 3 credits-Fall 2011)

  4. But how do I pay? … Here are the options! • Check • Credit Card • Pay online via Student Center (www.My.Maricopa.edu) • eCashier– Installment Plan • Tuition Assistance Financial Aid Eligibility: • See if you qualify for 2010-2011 Financial Aid, go to: • www.riosalado.edu/dual & click on Tuition Assistance.

Dual Enrollment Registration • Rio Salado Dual Enrollment home page: http://www.riosalado.edu/programs/dual/ • Click on High School Registration forms on the Left hand column • There will be two boxes. Click on the link in either “New Students” (Computer Applications – CIS105) or “Returning Students” (if you have already taken a course for Rio Salado credit)

  6. Tutorial Video • When you click on the appropriate box, an individualized tutorial for either New Students or Returning Students will appear. • Follow the steps outlined by the video and your handout. • Note: You cannot complete registration online. You MUST submit all paperwork to a teacher at Desert Vista.

  7. Finalizing your application • Print out all the forms you have filled out online. • Be sure that you have enclosed a check or that you have indicated a payment method. • Be sure both you and your parents have signed and dated the application. • Bring all completed paperwork to your teacher as soon as possible—by or before August 19th.

  8. Submitall signed documents to a Dual Enrollment teacher • New Students: Prop 300 Documentation (citizenshipstatus) Photocopy of one of the following: Drivers License, Birth Certificate, Passport ID page or Residency Card (if Permanent Resident) • Registration Request Form • Payment Options Page • Tuition Assistance Application and supporting documents, if needed • Note: New students have AN EXTRA page plus documentation to turn into their teacher.

  9. Final Steps • Have your teacher for each class listed on your application initial that you have completed the prerequisites. • Turn in your completed, signed, and initialed application to your LAST Rio Salado Dual Enrollment teacher of the day. He/She will make sure all paperwork is together.

  10. P.S. • When you apply you will receive your Maricopa Enterprise ID (MEID), student ID and password. Save these numbers and your password! • Your MEID number is necessary to access your Student Center to verify enrollment, payments, and transcripts. • Your student number is required for all interactions with Rio Salado College.
