Reflexive Verbs • Some verbs have different meanings when used with a reflexive pronoun. • Porejemplo: Dormir – to sleep dormirse – to fall asleep Ir – to go irse – to leave, to go away Poner – to put ponerse – to put on
Reflexive Pronouns Pronouns need to accompany the verbs if the person doing the action and receiving the action are the same. me nos te se se
Reflexive Pronouns • The pronoun needs to be placed IN FRONT of the conjugated verb: • Ejemplo: Ella se lava la cabeza The pronoun can be ATTACHED to an infinitve: Ejemplo: Ella necesitalavarse la cabeza. NOTE: We use “la cabeza” instead of “mi cabeza” because the possession is implied with the reflexive pronoun.
