My Mom by: Ma. Octavia Bolasig
She's a plumber, an electrician, a carpenter, a secretary, an attorney-at-law, a family budget minister, a cook, a beautician, a teacher, a wife, and a mother. This sounds crazy but it's true. She's all of the above and rolled into one. She's always ready with a wrench to fix the leaking faucet in the kitchen; a screw driver to disassemble and assemble my sister's worn-out, one-week-old hair dryer; and a hammer to fix the squeaking backdoor. She types her boss(my father's) letters, affidavits, and other documents; and talks to clients involved in criminal cases about hearing, etc. like a professional lawyer. She budgets the family income, solves all financial problems,
and cooks food tastier than anything Nora Daza's created (you should taste her pancit palabok!). As a beautician, she's a 10. She could make Nora Aunor up and make her look Hilda Koronel. And that's not all. Ask her anything, from your math problems to love problems, and she has a ready answer in her head. But most of all, she's a loving wife to my dad and a caring mother to me and my three sisters and two brothers. to sum it up, she's everything to us, we love her very much. That's my mom, the brains and the heart of our home.
