Now, support it with explanation that includes DIRECT EVIDENCE In “The Treasure of Lemon Brown” by Walter Dean Myers, the opening setting creates an angry, unsettled mood, which reflects the angry mood of the main character, Greg. Greg’s father won’t let him play basketball with the Scorpions unless he brings up his math grade, so of course he is unhappy. The setting reflects this mood with such phrases as “the dark sky, filled with angry, swirling clouds” and “his father’s words, like the distant thunder that now echoed through the streets of Harlem, still rumbled softly in his ears” (17). This description of the setting, filled with figurative language, clearly reflects the angry mood Greg feels.
