Suggestions for Materials to bring for Your Lab (5 extra credit pts) • 20 of a selected invertebrate • Testing Chamber: (boxes, containers, etc.) • Heat source (pads)-if doing temp • Paper towels • Light bulbs, saran wrap: different light colors • Various surfaces/substrates • Magnets • Soil types
Suggested Invertebrates • Sow bugs • Earthworms • Crickets • Meal worms • Snails • Brine Shrimp • Insects (ants, silverfish, etc) • Crabs **Any other invertebrate that I approve ***Need a minimum of 20
Monday’s Lab • The following will be provided for you: • Thermometer • Ice • Lamps, light source • Petri dishes • Water • Stopwatch, clock
Each PERSON must hand in a Copy on Monday • Planning A & B write-up • Introduction & Background • Research Question/Problem • Clear Hypothesis (predicted statement) **Must be unique and not the same as another in your group using the same invertebrate • Independent & Dependent Variables defined • Control • Materials list • Detailed procedure • Data table-to record your data
