In many cases, this machinery is large.
Specialist training is required before you can use them.
These machines are fitted with emergency stop buttons.
Machines should be kept clean, maintained as per the manufacturers instructions, only operated by trained personnel and safety guards should ALWAYS be used.

5. Cross cut saw - this is used for cutting materials widthways.
6. Dimension / panel saw. This is used for cutting sheet materials to size.

13. HAND-HELD POWER TOOLS For safety reasons, hand-held tools should ideally be powered by rechargeable batteries.
Rechargeable batteries provide low voltages, minimising the risk of electric shock.
Where the design of hand-held tools prevent them from being powered by rechargeable batteries, 110 volt tools should be chosen over 240 volt tools.
110 Volt cables and transformers are yellow in colour.

15. HAND-HELD POWER TOOLS Palm sanders are used to sand small items of work. Palm sanders are lightweight, (generally not weighing more than 1Kg) and operate at roughly 14000 orbits per minute. They can be fitted with dust bags, and sanding paper is held in place using clamps.

17. HAND-HELD POWER TOOLS Nail guns are designed for high speed nailing, and can be pneumatically driven. They should only be operated with the muzzle touching the work to be nailed.
