3. Aperture/f-stop • Opening in the lens that light shines through when the photo is taken. (the size of the opening f 1.8)
4. Flash • Light source used when shooting in low-light situations
5. Focus • A function of a camera’s lens to make objects crisp, clear to the eye.

8. Pixels • The color dots that make up an image. • The more pixals=the more detail. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuSNnn9afJw
9. Noise • Awkward pixel placement or not enough pixels. • (“grainy” picture) which occurs when you’re using a long exposure or a high ISO value.
10. Under Exposure • Photo appears too dark because of insufficient light (opposite of over exposure)
Vocabulary 11-12 • 11. crop – to cut off or remove part of an image; cut off edges
12. depth of field – range of components in a scene, from front to back, that remain in focus.
13. foreground – the part of view that is nearest to the viewer.
15. still life-a picture of an everyday object taken in a studio against a plain background
16. candid – an unposed picture of a person or group of people
19. diffuser – device attached to camera to soften bright light.
20. LCD – liquid crystal display or monitor on a camera that allows you to preview your photos
