EPack - What is it? • A new range of power controllers • 1 phase products for the moment • Complement range to Epower • Low to middle current ratings (16A to 125A) • Advanced product (levels 1 and 2)
General overview Supplies Coloured TFT display Auxiliary supplies Analog./ Digital inputs Voltage reference Connexions line/load Relay Touch buttons Dual Ethernet port Load connexion Inputs/Outputs Line connexion
Hardware variants 32A 63A EPackisfully configurable/upgradableexcept : • The mechanics (32A, 63A, 100A or 125A) • The voltage of the auxiliary voltage (24V AC/DC or 100-500V AC) • These options require a differentbuild of the product and can’tbechanged in the field. 100A 125A
Supplies The product is equipped with two supplies : • Power > thyristor • Auxiliary > comms and display Why? • We cannot use power voltage for configuration • Potential at the output of the product at 0% of setpoint=> Safety issues • To run comms even in case of power fault • Can provide diagnostics in every condition • To be able to configure the product without dangerous voltage • Configuration can be made with presence of 24V only
Firing modes All firing modes are available in standard • Burst modes • Fixed burst (100 periods by default, adjustable from 25 to 1000) • Variable burst (16 periods by default, adjustable from 1 to 100) • Intelligent half cycle • Phase angle • Progressive start-up (phase angle ramp) • Delay triggering (First firing delay) • Switch phase angle/ burst
Control modes EPack is able to deliver the power based on the following controls • V² control • Suitable for pure resistive loads (constant resistance) • V² control with current limit (V2CL) • Suitable for primaries of transformers with pure resistive loads • I² control • Suitable for HTCL loads / bushing • True Power control • Suitable whose resistance changes according to age or temperature (TTDL)
I/O and relay IO connector (5 points) • 1 analog input fully configurable • Function : SP, limit…. • Type : 0-5V, 1-5V, 0-10V, 2-10V, 0-20mA, 4-20mA • 2 digital inputs fully configurable • Function DI1 : enable signal by default • Function DI2 : fully configurable • Type : voltage or contact Relay connector (3 points) • 2A relays • 2 contacts (NO and NC)
3 configuration methods • Complete oder code – 19 fields • Defines completely the product : fit for purpose • No adjustment in case of replacement • Quick code – 11 fields • Hardware and software options defined by order code • Configuration through set of questions • More than 80% of applications are covered • Itools • Same as quick code for HW and SW definition • Access to all parameters of the product / with help available • Saving and cloning capabilities
Comms Dual Ethernet port with integrated switch • Protocol • Modbus TCP for the moment • Other protocols to come… • Connection • Direct • Through a switch • Daisy chain • Cable • Straight • Cross • Used for • Itools configuration • Fieldbus connection
Zero conf protocol • What is it? • Zero configuration networking (zeroconf) is a set of techniques that automatically creates a usable Internet Protocol (IP) network without manual operator intervention or special configuration servers • How does it work? • It allocates dynamically the IP addresses to the slaves if no address is affected by DHCP server (Auto-IP) • What does it result in? • A plug a play Ethernet connection!
Fuse options No internal fuse Fusing methods depends on the option • Without fuse • for loads generating high surge current (typically SWIR) • Requires protection against overloads and short circuit • High speed fuse • Protect thyristor against short circuit • Requires additional line protection
Typical schemes 500V version 24V version
Standards • Product standard IEC 60947-4-3 • UL/c-UL 60947 with SCCR @ 100kA • RoHS (RoHS 2 pending) • GOST exemption • CCC self certification
