PRIORITY AREA 6 Preserving biodiversity, landscapes and the quality of air and soils TASKS OF THE PACs (cont.) • Ensure policy discussions and policy development • Identify Project Leaders and assist them in order to facilitate the implementation of projects • Seek for available funding opportunities and make full use of already existing sources of information • Ensure communication and visibility of results, promote public awareness • Identify newproject ideas • Monitor and report to the Commission on the progress
Conclusions ... • To develop macro-regional strategies is complex and challenging and needs the involvement of stakeholders on different levels • Macro-regional strategies are about to become important multi level governance approaches throughout Europe • Macro-regional strategies and funding instruments (esp. transnational strand of European Territorial Co-operation) should better fit together • Successful macro-regional strategies require a spirit of co-operation (each actor should bring in it’s competencies and know how)
