  1. Have you ever lost a pet? It wont happen to you, right? By Zaida A. Rendon

  2. A simple injection means a lifetime of protection! • Did you know a family pet is lost every 2 seconds? • Lost pest are a big concern and frustration for both owners and veterinarians. • Shelters are overcrowded, and lost pest can’t stay there long.

  3. ID Microchips • Are tiny microchips that contain a personal, one-of-a-kind identification number. • Developed to make a difference for all pets. • Avoid the pain, worry and expense of losing a pet. • It’s a Technology Miracle!

  4. ID Microchips • PASSIVE • SMALL • SIMPLE • SAFE • RELIABLE • UNIQUE • UNALTERABLE

  5. How do ID Microchips work? • Participating shelters will check the lost pet for a microchip with a special scanner. • The scanner generates a low energy radio signal that energizes the identity tag to transmit its unique number

  6. What about humans? • The VeriChip was made by Applied Digital Solutions. • The VeriChip stores six lines of text and is slightly larger than a grain of rice. It emits a 125-kHz radio frequency signal that can be picked up by a special scanner up to four feet away. • VeriChip is also working on the development of an implant that will contain a Global Positioning System. Such a device would allow an individual with a scanner to pinpoint someone's position on the globe.

  7. Opinions A 48-year-old cancer survivor, has more practical reasons for wanting the VeriChip: "If something happens to me and there's no one that knows anything about my medical history, any paramedic or hospital worker, if they have the scanner -- which hopefully everyone will have at some point –- will be able to scan all my information," he said. "It could save my life." Leslie, 46, said she was motivated by security concerns. “The world would be a safer place if authorities had a tamper-proof way of identifying people, she said.”

  8. Until your pet learns how to use the phone, a microchip will help him find his way home!
