Race to the Top: NC’s Process Great Teachers & Principals • September Webinars - Basic Information • October Regional Meetings - Technical Assistance for LEA/charter school teams • November 8 - Scope of Work Applications Due to NCDPI from LEAs/charter schools • Funds Distributed as soon as funding received from US Department of Education (estimated 9/30) and LEA/charter Detailed Scope of Work plan approved by NCDPI

Race to the Top: NC’s Process Great Teachers & Principals Supporting LEA/charter completion of the Detailed Scope of Work: • Detailed Scope of Work template – as much pre-populated, pre-formatted, and pre-formulated as possible! • Instructions - a step-by-step guide for completing • Guidance documents – providing LEA/charter teams with user-friendly summaries of: • What the State will do • What LEAs/charters are required to do • What LEAs/charters may opt to do

  11. Turnaround Criteria Turnaround of Lowest- Achieving Schools • Lowest 5% of schools in each grade span group: elementary, middle and high school • High schools with a graduation rate below 60% • School districts with an aggregate performance composite below 65%
