What do you understand by Hearing Protection Device? • It is used for ear protection devices which worn in or over the ears. • It reduces the level of the noise entering to ear and also protect against effects of noise exposure such as tinnitus and hyperacusis. • There are several condition like Ototoxicity, sensorineural hearing loss which can be treated with the help of hearing aids.

  3. Types of Hearing Protection Devices are:- • Earmuffs:- are used to fit over the outer ear or pinna. It consists of two ear cups and a hear band. • Earplugs:- are designed to fit in the ear canal. It has four subtypes that are pre-molded earplugs,formable earplugs,roll-down foam earplugs and custom earplugs. • Electronic Hearing Protection Devices:- is available in both earplugs and earmuffs styles.

  4. Advantages of Hearing Protection Devices are:- • It reduces losses. • It is a simple and easy setup. • It is a low investment. • It has good compatibility with other PPE. • It is also more suitable fit than performed earplugs.

  5. Disadvantages of Hearing Protection Devices are:- • We face problems related to comfort. • Low compatibility with other PPE. • Regular Maintenance. • It also not suit for infected ears. • High initial investment.
